Bajaj Chetak c25 Review
Here are the top recent developments on Bajaj Chetak:
- Bajaj Chetak C25 launch date: New Chetak C25 model launched across India with early-bird retail discounts for first buyers.
- The scooter has generated strong first-ride reviews praising its urban utility and build quality.
- Chetak continues to be one of the best-selling electric scooters in its segment.
These updates reflect ongoing efforts by Bajaj Auto to keep the Chetak brand relevant in a fast-evolving electric vehicle market.
What Is Bajaj Chetak C25?
The Bajaj Chetak c25 is an electric scooter from Bajaj Auto Ltd., one of India’s oldest and most well-known two-wheeler manufacturers. Since its electric relaunch in 2020, Chetak has competed in the growing EV scooter market, known for its solid metal body, reliability, and strong brand recall.
Over the years, Bajaj has expanded the Chetak line-up to include multiple variants with different battery sizes, power outputs, and feature sets.
Bajaj Chetak C25 on-road price
In January 2026, Bajaj Auto launched the all-new Chetak C25, a more accessible and affordable version of the iconic Chetak electric scooter.
Priced at approximately ₹87,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), the C25 is positioned as a daily city commute scooter that brings Chetak’s build quality and brand heritage to a broader audience.
This launch marks Bajaj’s strategic effort to target the sub-₹1 lakh EV segment — a key volume market in India where many buyers are still transitioning from petrol scooters to electric mobility.
Key Features of the Bajaj Chetak C25
The Bajaj Chetak C25 focuses on practicality and city-oriented performance:
- Battery and range: A 2.5 kWh battery delivering up to 113 km claimed range on a single charge.
- Motor and speed: 2.2 kW hub-mounted motor with a top speed around 55 km/h, suitable for urban traffic.
- Design DNA: Signature metal body construction that distinguishes Chetak from many plastic-bodied competitors.
- Practical features: 25-litre under-seat storage, hill-hold assist, LED lighting, and basic digital console functions.
These features make the Chetak C25 ideal for city commuters and first-time EV buyers who seek build quality and dependability over outright performance.
What is Market Position and Sales Momentum
Bajaj Chetak has historically been a strong contender in India’s electric two-wheeler market. The broader Chetak line has sold over 5 lakh units cumulatively since launch, reflecting consistent demand despite stiff competition.
This performance highlights Bajaj’s ability to attract buyers who prefer a trusted legacy brand rather than emerging EV startups. Such positioning has helped Chetak maintain a meaningful market share and build a loyal customer base.
Competition and EV Industry Context
The Indian electric scooter market has become increasingly competitive. New entrants and startups like Ola Electric and Ather Energy have intensified pressure on legacy manufacturers.
To stay relevant, Bajaj is broadening the Chetak portfolio across price segments and expanding its retail and service network. This is a notable move in a segment where service experience and after-sales support remain key buyer concerns.

I appreciate how the article connects the Chetak C25’s early-bird discounts with its strong urban utility and build quality, rather than focusing only on headline specifications. Its long-term market impact will also depend on dependable charging access and Bajaj’s service reach in smaller cities, where everyday convenience can influence EV adoption. This is a useful perspective on the factors shaping India’s electric scooter market in 2026.
